FAREWELL AND THANK YOU MS KIRKMAN
We have been fortunate to have Ms Tracey Kirkman as a valued member of our Administration team for 13+ years. Tracey started with us with skills and confidence at a time when we needed to add to our team and has been with us ever since. Tracey has made the decision to move to be closer to her family and had her final day in our office today before taking leave for her new adventure ahead. We are grateful for the gift she has been to our community and we will certainly miss having her in our team. We wish her our best as she moves on and thanked her today with our staff. We will miss you Tracey.
PLANNING FOR 2026
During this Term, a number of school planning processes take place for 2026. One of these is setting up class groups, with teachers and leaders working through a series of steps to construct the best groupings for each grade.
If you have important information about your child/ren that their current teachers and leaders need to be aware of in the process:
- This is required to be submitted in writing to the school email address - pmacp@lism.catholic.edu.au.
- This should be labelled “Class consideration: attention to The Principal”, so it is easily located in the email list.
- This must be submitted by Monday 10th November.
Please note the following:
- Information given after the due date will not be considered.
- Disrespectful language regarding teachers or children will not be accepted.
- Requests for wanting particular teachers is not a valid reason for sharing of information.
- However, consideration for particular need-based reasons will be considered. This is at the discretion of the teachers and leaders.
- Requests for a list of children you would like your child to be with or not be with is not a valid reason for sharing of information.
- However, important information about valid concerns for particular situations will be considered dependent on concrete evidence or reasons.
- Children have voice with their current teacher on valued classmates.
- Consideration will be given to important information shared, but decisions will be made by teachers and leaders in the best interests of all.
- Teachers and leaders will consider appropriate social, academic and other needs to balance class groupings, based on their knowledge and experience of the children in their care.
- Classes are constructed for the best environment for learning, which may mean children are in a class with some but not necessarily all of their friends. It is important to understand and support your child in knowing that this is not a negative outcome, that they will learn to work with a variety of people and build quality learning skills. They will also still see other friends in activities across the year and can share lunch breaks with them.
MISSION
ENCOUNTER KIDS - YEARS 4, 5 AND 6 !!

CHRISTMAS APPEAL
TELL THEM FROM ME STUDENT SURVEY
The Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Student Survey gathers students’ perspectives on their learning, engagement, wellbeing, and school experiences. It helps schools understand how students feel about their education and identify areas for improvement to support positive outcomes. Each week this Term a snapshot of this data will be shared.
NEW SOCIAL MEDIA AGE RULES COMING 10th DECEMBER
New rules on social media age limits start on December 10th. We'll be sharing resources this Term to help your family prepare.
The main idea is that this legislation is a delay, not a ban. It's designed to give kids under 16 more time to develop the maturity and digital skills they need before facing the challenges of adult social media platforms.
Keep an eye on the newsletter for more information!
STAGE 1 - CELEBRATION OF THE WORD
Today, Stage 1 came together with family and friends for our last Celebration of the Word for 2025. Stage 1 has been learning about God's Creation, and how everything that God has made is good. Today, we listened to Scripture about creation, and listened to Fr Gooley talk to us about how important it is to care for all creation, and especially, to be kind and caring to each other.
LEARNING
SUSTAINABILITY - BUSH TUCKER

In Geography, Year 1 have been exploring the topic “People Use Places”. As part of this unit, the class learned about Indigenous Australian knowledge and sustainability. Leanne Parsons (our, Indigenous Education Worker) shared her wonderful bush tucker experience, helping students understand how Aboriginal people use the land in sustainable ways. The children had the chance to sample and discuss bush cherries and black apples, discovering their unique flavour and significance as a traditional food source. This learning experience helped students appreciate the deep connection between people, place, and culture, and how Indigenous practices continue to inspire sustainable living today.
PUPPERTY IN DRAMA
YEAR 2 PUPPET MAKING

In Drama this week, Year 2 had a wonderful time making their very own newspaper puppets! Over the next few weeks, the children will continue to develop their puppets, learning how to use them in performances, create unique characters, and even design costumes to match their personalities. Puppetry helps students build confidence, develop focus and control, enhance imagination, foster collaboration, and explore character and storytelling.
