ENHANCING SPORT THROUGH FAITH

god.jpg

NSWPSSA

We wish Bonnie Mann, Jai Davis, Nixon Smith, Albi Winters, Mason Pope, Hunter Pociask, Amelia Opitz, Billy Bright, James Millwarde and Eliza Ziade the very best at the NSWPSSA Athletics Championships next week. To reach this level is an amazing achievement. The goal for all students is to have a PB. Making the NSW State Team is a bonus.

ELECTIVE SPORTS

COMPASS EVENT CLOSE TONIGHT

Elective Sports will close tonight, and any students who haven’t been registered will be placed in School Sports. The Elective Sports Program will kick off in Week 3 and will run for 4 weeks. The program provides opportunities for students to get out and be active. A big thank you to Mrs Grant and Mrs Hickson for your amazing work with the program. There is a huge amount of planning, and year after year, they do it so wonderfully well.

SUMMER SPORTS

Summer Sports for Years 4 and 5 are about to commence. A huge thank you to the huge number of students who have trialled for the sports. Good luck to all students competing.

Monday, October 20- Cricket @ Kempsey

Monday, October 27- Tennis @ Kendall

Monday, October 27- Basketball @ Port Macquarie

Monday, November 3- Touch Football @ Kempsey

BASKETBALL NSW GALA DAY

We have had 25 boys trial for the Basketball NSW Gala Day. Mr Post and I have been blown away by the outstanding commitment of the boys over the 3 tryout sessions this week. The improvemnet of all boys has also been amazing, with Mr Post giving tips and each boy taking that on board. A Compass notification will be sent out early next week for this event for the 10 boys who made the team.

KINDER SPORT FOR THE TERM

Recently, we were successful in being awarded a grant of $2800.00 from Sporting Schools. The grant gives us an opportunity to bring in specific coaches to teach students the specific skills of a wide range of sports. Kindy students will kick off next week and for the next four weeks with Soccer. Following the four-week Soccer program, Kindy will then participate in a four-week program of basketball.

WHO WANTS TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL

A huge thank you to Mia Markou (Year 5) for suggesting to me if we could have a volleyball competition. For many terms now, volleyball has been very popular, and the two courts have been heavily used. Therefore, and thanks again to Mia, on Monday, I will be asking for any Years 5 and 6 students who would like to be part of a lunchtime Volleyball competition. I foresee the competition commencing in Week 4,  and it will be another fantastic opportunity to get out and active, meet new friends, smile and enjoy sport.

AROUND THE GROUNDS

WELL DONE ADDISON

Recently, Addison Vella (Year 4) and her team, Crush, competed in The Cheercon States Competition. Her team trained really hard, and they came first and hit zero (which means no deductions in their routine) in a tough competition in the Junior Novice division.
