INSPIRED READERS FESTIVAL

A compass event has now been sent out to all families of Year 3-6 students that indicated (via the EOI) they would like to attend the Inspired Readers Festival which will be held at Charles Sturt University in Term 4. Year 5 and 6 students will be attending the festival on Tuesday 11th November and Year 3 and 4 students will be attending on Wednesday 12th November. To secure your child’s attendance, please accept the compass event and provide payment by Monday 22nd September.

NSW PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE: FINAL DAY

A final reminder that all Premier’s Reading Challenge participants must have their online student reading records completed by tonight, 11:59pm on Friday 19th September so that validation can occur. Only students who have a completed and validated reading record will receive a PRC certificate in Term 4.

ASHTON SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB

Students were very excited to receive their Issue 6 book orders this week and it was fantastic to see so many students interested in reading. These purchases earned the school almost $100 in book club rewards which will go towards ordering new books for students to borrow and enjoy in the St Peter’s School Library. Thank you to all families for your continued support.

These upcoming holidays, our local libraries have a wonderful array of activities planned to inspire and excite our budding readers including a creative writing workshop, storytime session, movie screening, craft sessions and even a visit from well-known children’s author and illustrator, Sami Bayly in celebration of her latest book, The Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Fast and Slow Animals.
