BOOK WEEK, GRANDPARENTS DAY AND OPEN CLASSROOMS
What a wonderful morning we had celebrating Book Week and welcoming our special grandparents and carers into our school community!
Our students looked amazing as they paraded in their creative costumes, showing off their favourite book characters. Our staff also were in the spirit of the day and worked in their teams to share their love of literature in costumes. After the parade, families and visitors enjoyed time together with fruit platters, stories, and plenty of smiles.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so memorable — especially to our staff, students, and families who brought the joy of books and community to life.
We also acknowledge and thank our staff for opening the doors of their classrooms to families on Wednesday to share some wonderful work from Science and Art. It is always a delight to see children sharing their special project and learning with their parents. We especially thank Amanda Thomas who organised the afternoon, our parents who assisted in cooking the barbecue and serving sausages, as well as our band leaders who supported our band to perform on the basketball courts.

CONCERNS IN THE CARPARK
We have received notification that there have been adults seen smoking in the school carpark. We advise all parents and carers, as well as asking you to pass on to anyone you know who may visit the school at times, that smoking is prohibited on all school premises, with our carpark being part of school grounds. The no-smoking rule includes buildings, gardens, sports fields, car parks, and any other areas within the school grounds. The ban applies to all individuals - students, staff, visitors, and community members - without exception.
Additionally, under the NSW Smoke-free Environment Act 2000, smoking is prohibited within 4 metres of a pedestrian entrance to or exit from a public building, which encompasses schools. This regulation, known as the '4 metre law,' aims to prevent exposure to second-hand smoke for individuals entering or leaving public buildings.
It's important to note that this law also applies to the use of e-cigarettes (vaping). Therefore, to comply with state legislation, individuals must refrain from smoking or vaping on school grounds and within 4 metres of any school entrance or exit.
Violations of these regulations can result in penalties, including on-the-spot fines of $300 for individuals who smoke within the restricted areas. We ask that you observe this rule, for the safety of our students and families.

LEARNING
YEAR 4 SERVE UP LIFE - SIZE CLAY CREATIONS !
This term, Year 4 students have been busy sculpting life-sized, realistic food items using air-drying clay. Their creative task challenged them to design and craft sculptures that looked just like the real thing! To enhance the realism, students also presented their clay creations in carefully selected food packaging. The finished artworks were proudly displayed in the Year 4 classrooms, where families and students from across the school were invited to view and admire the collection. As you can imagine, the exhibition was a delicious success!
PEER SUPPORT
Today in Peer Support, children practised developing their strengths. This will help your child to become more resilient and optimistic. Ask your child to share strengths they identified in the session.
