Eisteddfod Dance Groups 2021 Cancelled

It is with disappointment that we would like to let our school community know that The Port Macquarie District Eisteddfod Committee made an announcement in the second week of the school holidays to cancel the 2021 groups due to the continuing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Restrictions currently in place for schools to rehearse and on the use of entertainment venues made running the event untenable. I would like to acknowledge the Dance Eisteddfod committee who tried endlessly to make the Eisteddfod happen for our dancers. I would like to also thank the dancers for their dedicated efforts, our dances were looking great and I look forward to a bigger and brighter year on stage in 2022.

There was a large team of teachers who gave up their time to help run this extracurricular activity, and without this team we would not have been able to have 5 dance groups and over 100 dancers participating, so a big thank you to Ms Robson, Mrs Stewart, Mrs Gilmour, Mrs Packer, Mrs Kipreotis, Ms McKenzie, Mrs Kalchabuer, Mrs Baird, Ms Dal Santo, Mrs Cullen and Mrs Tarbox. I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the tireless expertise and energy of Ms Julie-Anne. 

Lessons that were missed due to the recent lockdown will be credited to families school account. The deposit for costume hire has been sent home with the eldest student from each family this week. 

I look forward to 2022 and seeing our dances on stage.
