Dear God,
Thank you for guiding us through this term,
For the friends we've made and lessons we've learned.
As we finish our last day of school this term,
Please bless our teachers and classmates too.
Help us to rest, have fun, and stay safe,
Until we return, refreshed and full of faith.
Amen.

St Peter’s Glasshouse Concert - By Request
After lots of preparation, practice and work by many people, our students proudly showcased their dance skills in our concerts this week at the Glasshouse. We appreciate all of the positive comments and accolades from audience members, as it really was a show to remember! On the nights, we thanked all of the people who were involved in making this come to life and I would like to acknowledge them to our community in gratitude for their amazing work.
- Miss Julie-Anne: As our MCs stated on the night, “Thank God for Miss Julie-Anne”, whose choreography and support was exceptional this year as always. Imagine what would have happened if the teachers, mums or dads had the job!
- Michelle Baird: Who organised the structure for the whole concert and worked with staff and Miss Julie-Anne to make it a smooth and amazing concert. Also to Rachael Cullen, Olivia Gibb, Sharni Geary and Michelle Lawler for costume support and organisation.
- Natalie Jennings and Natalie McKenzie: Who organised the Eisteddfod groups and all of the things that went with that for both the concert and the Eisteddfod this week. Also to Sharni Geary, Natalie Stewart, Ashleigh Fowler, Olivia Gibb, Katie Loveday and Alesha Johansson for supervising groups throughout Terms 2 and 3 as well as on the nights.
- Our Office staff - Chris, Annette, Tracey, Tamie, Bec and Anna for supporting with notes, notifications, phonecalls etc to make sure everyone was connected.
- The Glasshouse staff: for their support in the organisation and roles throughout the concerts to make the magic happen!
- Sean and Warren for their lighting and sound magic to make it all come together and look amazing!
- All of our Teachers and Learning Assistants for their commitment to practices, costumes, caring for students in between dances and ups and downs with students to deliver a wonderful experience.
- Michael Gallery: Writing the MC scripts, with ever so gentle and humorous roasting of our beloved teachers, practicing and organising the filming of the recorded MC spots.
- Peter Mitchell: Recording and digitising the MC spots for us to be amazing on the nights.
- Year 6 MCs: What outstanding young people to deliver with dramatic and accurate expression, making the breaks in between medleys riveting!
- Parents and carers who supported the process, assisted with costumes and helped out as needed to get us there.
- And most importantly, our students…..from our youngest to our oldest students who made it all look so easy and enjoyable, knowing that there were many hours of practice involved in delivering performances that made us all smile.

An additional enormous thank you to the parents who came in on Thursday to support hair and makeup being on point for Eisteddfod afternoon and evening for our amazing 7 groups! Record numbers of students wanted to be part of Eisteddfod this year, and they absolutely rocked the stage! Well done all and thanks to all involved

POSITIVE REMINDER
We have had a visit from a local resident who provided security video footage of a group of young boys egging houses, throwing rocks at garage doors, knocking on doors, and running away in the Greenmeadows, Sanctuary Springs, and St Agnes’ Village precincts.
We have not identified any of our students in the footage, nor do we suggest any St Peter’s students are involved. However, it is a good opportunity to remind our children of respectful and appropriate behaviour, particularly around our elderly residents, who become very stressed and frightened when subjected to such behaviour. We also encourage you to notify the police if any such behaviour is targeted at your home or if you witness this group targeting other residents.
MISSION
FAITH AND ART
This week in Year 4, our Catholic Faith and Identity were celebrated through art, with students sharing a Bible story via shadow puppets. The students worked in small groups to design and make their puppets, and used the Storytelling method to share their Bible story with the rest of the class. Storytelling engages children's natural curiosity, imagination, and wonder. It uses Scripture, tradition, and children's literature to promote reflection and exploration, integrating scaffolded, imaginative play as a key learning method.
Our Year 4 students did a fantastic job, ensuring their peers had the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of some of our favourite Scripture!
ST PETER'S HOSPITALITY MASS
The next date for St Peter’s hospitality Mass is Sunday 20th October. We would love to see as many families there as possible. Please bring a plate of food to share afterwards. A sausage sizzle will be provided.
SCIENCE DESIGN AND MAKE IN YEAR 2
Year 2 have been busy learning about Australian native bees and their habitats in Science this term and the students have been designing a bee hotel to attract bees to their backyards. This week the students got to make their prototypes and did a fantastic job! All that is left now is to test their designs by setting up the hotels in their backyards and waiting for the bees to take up residence. Well done, Year 2 scientists!
HOLIDAY LEARNING AND WELLBEING IDEAS
The Port Macquarie Library is a great place to visit and borrow a book or click the link to see some holiday activities on offer.
Port Macquarie Library Activities- registrations are essential.
WELLBEING ACTIVITIES
DO SOME MINDFUL COLOURING
Mindfulness is all about paying attention to the present moment. When we’re mindful, we are living in the now and noticing the feelings and sensations in our bodies, as well as the noises, tastes, sights and smells of the environment around us.
Colouring naturally helps children to achieve a mindful state, as they are focused on creating a beautiful, colourful picture using the paper and pens in front of them.
GET CREATIVE WITH SOME ARTY ACTIVITIES
One of the most fun wellbeing activities is doing something creative! Whether this involves paints, pens, glitter, collage materials or sewing kits, encouraging children to use their creativity is wonderful for their wellbeing.
EXPLORE NATURE TOGETHER
Whether it’s a simple walk in your neighbourhood park, or a trip to the beach, taking the time to explore nature with your child can help you to connect with each other and with our beautiful natural world. Spending time in nature has proven benefits for wellness, both mental and physical.
MEDITATE OUTSIDE
Boost your child’s wellbeing even further by trying meditation outside together. Enjoy a sunny day by sitting quietly, listening to some relaxing music or following a guided meditation outdoors.
COOK UP SOME DELICIOUS TREATS
Take a break from screens and get creative in the kitchen. Try making some biscuits to decorate and enjoy.
Have a wonderful break.
ENHANCING FAITH THROUGH SPORT
I know we love sport but…
3/4 TIME
As the siren has sounded on Term 3 Sport, I would like to thank all families on a massive Term of sport. These days, sport is 24/7 and doesn’t stop. We move from one sport to another. We have had many wonderful achievements over the Term. Thank you again to all families who have supported Peter’s sport, it is greatly appreciated.
OUR NETBALL TEAM SHINES AGAIN !
Our Netball Team on Wednesday travelled to Grafton to compete in the Lismore Dio Finals. Our team as always played their hearts out and did very well. We thank families for the wonderful support you give our school and your child in ensuring they have the opportunity to play.
JOSEPH YOU STAR
Last week, we mentioned the amazing efforts of Joseph Gornall, who represented Polding at this week's NSWPSSA Golf Championships at the Hunter Valley Golf Course. It was a big effort - 54 holes of golf over three days, with some windy weather making for tough playing conditions. He showed great resilence and learnt a lot from the event. Although he won't be progressing to the next level, it has been a fantastic experience for him and has made him even more resolute to keep practising and improving.
WELL DONE JOSH
Joshua Harris is our latest Polding Representative in the sport of Cricket. We wish Josh the very best at NSWPSSA Cricket in Armidale in Term 4, Week 1.
RUGBY LEAGUE
Our Years 3-4 and 5-6 Rugby League Teams had a wonderful time at the Hastings Gala Day. Thank you again to Mr Bright, Mr Baird, Mr Duffy, Mr Rowlatt, and Mr Mitchell for supporting the teams during the lead-up and the day. Our Teams performed very well on the field and were exceptional off the field displaying their PBS values all day long.
