GLASSHOUSE CONCERT
Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th September
NIGHT PERFORMANCES
We are just days away from our Glasshouse Concert, with so much work having been invested in the preparation. You will see final details within the newsletter and in the recent notes sent out to families. Please take the time to read through these to ensure that students’ costumes and other items are ready, and that they are at the Glasshouse ready for their performances. It was great to see the whole school today in costume for a full rehearsal and we thank those who joined us as an audience for them. We are very excited to welcome you to the show!
MISSION
CONFIRMATION
Congratulations to our young people making their Sacrament of Confirmation this week. May the gifts of the Holy Spirit inspire and enable them to be authentic followers of Jesus. As Bishop Greg said, these children are the next generation, those who can change the world one person at a time simply by trying to always do what’s right and showing love in everything they do.
$20 BOSS SUCCESS
Year 6 held their $20 Boss open day this week and had great success! This day links with our Religious Education outcomes as students learn about being ‘Steward of God’s Creation’ through the design of their own social enterprise. 20% of profits made from the sales will be donated to Make A Difference (MAD), the Sydney Royal Children’s Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House. There was a huge range of stalls with creative ideas that could help improve our world. Thank you to all families and students who came to visit the stalls and showed great generosity, purchasing many things. Our Year 6 entrepreneurs had a great time showing off their hard work!
ST PETER'S HOSPITALITY MASS
It was so wonderful to have so many St Peter’s families and the choir at last Sunday’s 5.00pm Mass. The next date for St Peter’s hospitality Mass is Sunday 20th October. We would love to see as many families there as possible. Please bring a plate of food to share afterwards. A sausage sizzle will be provided.
LEARNING
SPOT LIGHT ON KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten have been reading ‘The Invisible Boy’ by Trudy Ludwig in English. They have written letters to the main character Brian inviting him to play a game with them. Kindergarten then learnt about watercolours and how they resist oil pastels. They used white oil pastels and watercolours to create ‘invisible artworks’.
ENHANCING FAITH THROUGH SPORT
I know we love sport but…
3/4 TIME
As the siren is just about to sound on Term 3 Sport, I would like to thank all families on a massive Term of sport. These days, sport is 24/7 and doesn’t stop. We move from one sport to another. We have had many wonderful achievements over the Term. Thank you again to all families who have supported Peter’s sport, it is greatly appreciated.
SOCCER AND NETBALL GALA DAY
Today, we had a wonderful opportunity for our school to show off our wonderful sporting facilities at the Hastings Zone Gala Day - Competitive Section. A huge thank you to Mr Fisher for the line marking and having the oval and netball court ready to be played on. I will have full details of the event in Week 10’s Postman Pete.
WELL DONE JOSEPH
Congratulations to Joseph Gornall, who represented Polding at this week's NSWPSSA Golf Championships at the Hunter Valley Golf Course. He played very well and was a wonderful experience for this talented golfer.
GOOD LUCK JOSH
Today, Joshua Harris is competing at Polding Cricket Trials in Lismore. We will have a full review in the next weeks Postman Pete. Josh is an outstanding cricketer and we wish him the very best.
