LEARNING ASSISTANTS APPRECIATION WEEK
As you will know, we have an amazing group of teachers and ancillary staff in our school, with the goal of every role being to ensure our students are cared for in their time at school. There are many special days in the year that we celebrate the various groups. A particular group of staff that we celebrated this week in the staffroom are our Learning Assistants. Our chosen title for this special group of our staff is because they are there to assist in learning and support within the classrooms and they do an amazing job! They spend their time each week working within the grade teams to ensure all students have what they need and they go the extra mile every time. They develop strong and trusting relationships with students alongside their teachers to meet the needs of students in our school. Thank you Learning Assistants for helping us make this school a place where all are welcome and supported.
KINDERGARTEN 2025
We are pleased that our Kindergarten enrolment process is now almost complete for next year. Offers of enrolment have been sent out to families who attended interviews and we are just now waiting on acceptances. If you received an enrolment letter, please don’t forget to let us know that you will be taking up the offer so we can process these and plan towards our transition program in Term 4. As soon as we have dates and times, we will share these with you.

Yesterday, all Year 3 and 4 students got out and active and had an awesome day of sport. The Year 3 and 4 Touch Gala Day is always a highlight for our kids. No scoring, non-competitive, no trophies, no winners, just the opportunity to play. A huge thank you to our families who helped assist on the day and support over 150 students.

FRIDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER IS "FOOTY COLOURS DAY'
GOLD COIN DONATION
Next Friday 13th September, St Peter’s is participating in ‘Footy Colours Day.’
This is a national fundraising event, held in September where thousands of Aussies come together to proudly sport their team's colours, and raise money so kids don't fight cancer alone.
We ask that students bring a gold coin donation and dress in their favourite team colours or supporters gear, across all sports codes, such as Soccer, Netball, Basketball, AFL and more!

A4 ART
As we wrap up A4 Art, we’re excited to spotlight the Year 6 A4 Art Finalists
Charlie M 1st Place 2nd Place Community Choice Award Artwork: Celestial Dreaming I created Celestial Dreaming by using spray paint. I made my art by getting a blank piece of paper and spraying one colour in a circle. Next, I got a second colour and sprayed it on top. I crumpled up a magazine and swiped my hand across to create texture. I made a black shadow on one side using black spray paint and on the other side I created a glow using silver spray paint. I then placed a pineapple tin on top of the planet then I sprayed the whole page in black then I used other colours to spray the galaxy. |
|
Zoe Brice Highly Commended Artwork: Friend If you are not happy, a furry friend can be by your side to help you get happy again. I love my friend because she can help me with my dyslexia and my reading. I love cats. |
|
|
Emily K Artwork: Outback Dream I love the Australian outback. Last year I went out west with my cousins and we stayed on a 45 thousand-acre property. As soon as we got out there I knew where I wanted to be. I drew this picture because that is what I imagine a lot of houses would look like and the ones that I did see were really cool. |
Madeline Goldie Artwork: Party of the Inflatable Tube Men The Party of the Inflatable Tube Men is a fun and creative idea about how careless, free, and amazing life can be. If you let go of expectations and follow the patterns in the wind, you can have fun doing a little dancing. |
|
|
Ayce Perkins Artwork: Deep Sleep
People say that dreams can’t be true, but you can make them true with the power of your imagination when you sleep. |
Thank you to all students and families who purchased a book from our Book Stall during our Book Week celebrations and also during yesterday’s “Parent Cuppa & Chat” session in Leary’s Lane. Through these events our St Peter’s community have not only shared the love of reading with our students, but will also donate over $750 to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation to assist with the important work that they do in providing learning resources and literacy support to indigenous children and families living in remote communities across Australia. Your support of this initiative is greatly appreciated!
