AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITY PICK UPS
IMPORTANT REMINDER
As with all other pick up arrangements, under school duty of care requirements, any students who are participating in after school group activities (eg. Sport team practices, Drama), must be collected from the pick up area by an adult who has parental permission to do so. Students are not able to leave the school without the responsible adult.
The adult/s responsible for the group should provide the school with the name/s of adults who will be collecting them, a list of students they will be taking, and which day this will occur so that staff can ensure students are accounted for and avoid confusion at the busy end of the day.
Thank you to the parents and group leaders who have already done this and we ask those who haven’t to please do so by emailing the school or dropping in a list. We appreciate your support to keep our students safe.
BEFORE SCHOOL DROP OFFS
IMPORTANT REMINDER
The school gates and office are open at 8:00am each morning. No student should be dropped off before this time, as they are unsupervised and outside of the gates. If a parent or carer chooses to leave them outside before 8:00am, they are to wait at the entry gate respectfully until the gate opens at 8:00am. Unfortunately some children have been rude to our morning staff welcomers for not being open earlier. Please speak to your children about how they are expected to show respect to those who are caring for them and trying to keep them safe. If you are in need of before school care options that drop children off to school, please ask and we can let you know of options we are aware of.
MISSION
TELL THEM FROM ME SURVEY OPEN
Over the next three weeks we invite our parents and carers to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. The survey will be anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Our school goal is to have over 100 families to complete the survey.
Tell Them From Me Survey - Link
Each survey entry will receive a coffee voucher and go into the draw to win some fabulous prizes. You can enter your name into the prize draw by writing your name on the clipboard in the office or email pmacp@lism.catholic.edu.au to enter your name and receive your coffee voucher (it’s an honesty based system).
Leary’s Lane will be open Thursday mornings from 8.00am with some Ipads if you would prefer to complete the survey after school drop off.
NEXT WEEK......
MOTHER'S DAY @ ST PETER'S
MOTHER'S DAY STALL
Parents are welcome to assist with the stall from 8:45am on the day.
On Tuesday children are to bring in their money for the Mother’s Day stall in a clearly marked envelope or zip lock bag. They are able to purchase gifts for the mums, nans and mum figures in their life. Gifts will be available to purchase in the office if children are away on Tuesday.
PARENT COMMUNITY GROUP
THURSDAY 16TH MAY
The second Parent Community Group will be held on Thursday 16th May during the Year 6 Fundraising school disco. The focus will be on completing the ‘Tell Them From Me Survey’ which provides valuable information to the school for future planning. A complimentary boutique wine drink will be on offer. Ipads will also be available to complete the survey on.
During the Primary disco a brief presentation on ‘Speaking with your child about puberty’ will be facilitated by Janita Thompson from the Lismore Catholic Schools Office. Please RSVP to amanda.thomas@lism.catholic.edu.au if you would like to attend the puberty talk.
WORSHIP AT ST PETER'S
Sing along with the Jesus songs your child sings at school by checking out the Powerpoint below and the Spotify playlist. Please note that Spotify adds some songs as it’s a free list. Happy singing (when you sing you pray twice).

Congratulations everyone and thank you for your support.
PARENT ASSEMBLY CONFERENCE
ATTENDANCE
On-time to school means your child is on track to unleash their potential.
Arriving on time to school is a fundamental aspect of a child's educational experience and plays a crucial role in unlocking their full potential. Here are several reasons why being on time to school is important for a child's academic and personal development:
- Consistent Learning Opportunities. Being on time ensures that your child doesn't miss the beginning of lessons, announcements, or important information shared at the start of the school day. This consistency in attendance provides a steady flow of learning opportunities.
- Establishing a Routine. Timely arrival helps children establish a morning routine, promoting organisation and time management skills. Consistent routines contribute to a sense of stability and preparedness for the day's activities.
- Reduced Disruptions. Arriving on time minimises disruptions for both the child and the class. Late arrivals can interrupt the flow of lessons and can be distracting for the child and their peers.
- Building Respect for Punctuality. Punctuality is a valuable life skill. By consistently arriving on time to school, children develop a sense of responsibility.
ROAD SAFETY FOCUS - BUS AWARE
‘We all have a part to play for bus travel to be safe’.
Safe Bus Travel - Families have an important part to play in keeping children safe around roads.
- Never drop off or meet your child on the opposite side of the road to the bus stop or call them across the road. Always drop them off or meet them on the same side of the road as the bus stop.
- Remind your children to always wait until the bus has gone before choosing a safe place to cross the road.
Bus Flashing Lights - Lights flash on buses to warn motorists that buses are picking up and dropping off children.
- You must slow down to 40km/h when overtaking or passing a bus displaying flashing lights.
- You can help keep children safe by:
- Sticking to the speed limit and following the road rules in school zones.
- Slowing down to 40km/h when bus lights are flashing.
- Looking out for children crossing the road near bus stops, in school zones or along bus routes.
- Giving way to buses when they merge back into traffic.

2024 A4ART FINALISTS ANNOUNCED !!
The 2024 A4Art Prize has once again sparked a surge of creativity across our six St Agnes’ Parish Schools, with over 480 participants - representing more than 10% of the student body - contributing to the event, marking yet another year of growth.
The caliber of artworks in this year’s competition is truly outstanding. We've witnessed a diverse array of genres, from painting and drawing to origami, digital art, and 3D works, each accompanied by thoughtful artist statements. It's remarkable to see such a wide range of creativity stemming from a humble A4 sheet of paper.
After careful consideration by expert judges, 143 finalists have been chosen across 14 categories spanning from Kindergarten to Year 12, along with a special category for St Agnes’ Education Staff. This number includes artworks that have also been chosen as Packing Room Finalists, a category created to highlight outstanding pieces that may not have made it to the finalist stage but were recognised by the Creative Arts Nest Team.
All finalist artworks will be featured in the A4Art Pop-Up Exhibition, visiting each of the St Agnes’ Parish Schools during Term 2. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award during the exhibition. Furthermore, the artworks will be showcased at ArtWalk 2024 on June 7th in the Creative Arts Nest Tent at Port Macquarie Town Green.
428 artworks have been shortlisted and are now available for viewing online. Community members can cast their votes for the Community Choice Award at:
